Optional Car Insurance Extras

You can add the following optional car insurance extras to your policy when you get a car insurance quote. The table below shows which optional car insurance extras are available with what type of car insurance cover.

You can protect or guarantee your No Claim Discount:

• If you protect it, your No Claim Discount entitlement will not be affected as long as no more than two car insurance claims have been made in the last five years.
  
  
• If you guarantee it, it will last for the life of your car insurance policy.

Get car insurance cover for up to 180 days when travelling in EU Countries.

With our car insurance, you already have the minimum compulsory insurance cover required to drive in the European Union. However this would not cover:

• Loss or damage to your car for comprehensive and third party fire and theft car insurance policyholders.
• For all car insurance policyholders including third party the level of third party liability may not be as great as in the UK.

You can choose to extend this cover to give the full benefits when you are travelling in EU Countries for up to 180 days in a row, including when your car is being transported.

Choose from one of the following levels of breakdown cover:

• UK Recovery
• UK Recovery & Home Assist
• UK & European Assist

A guaranteed courtesy car while your car is being repaired (by our selected repairer service). 
Or for up to 14 days if:

• Your car is damaged beyond cost effective repair and cannot be driven
• Has been stolen and not recovered.

We will insure the courtesy car; you will only have to pay for the fuel (courtesy car is not available to third party only car insurance policyholders).

Personal accident covers you, your husband / wife or civil partner if they suffer an injury while travelling in, or getting in or out of any car.

• If the injury results in death, loss of sight or loss of limbs, our standard, comprehensive insurance will pay £10,000. 
• For a small additional premium on your car insurance policy you can increase this cover to £100,000.

This is only available if you are taking out Comprehensive car insurance cover.
